A perfect world? Not hardly! But with God's guidance and only through God we can do all things!
I wanted to make this in conjunction with our cloudsandoceans blog in case there were any girly issues to talk about......the feelings of leaving somewhere that you have been either for several years or all your life can be intimidating so going full time is an exciting adventure that both Larry and I are looking forward to doing and there are several issues we have talked about and there are many more we are preparing ourselves for in the future.
Leaving a foundation type home can't be an easy decision for many so making sure that is what you really want to do is very important.
Dispersing of your treasures; who gets what? Well that depends on how long you have had your treasures, how many family members you will share these things with.... lots to think about right?
Taking inventory of what you will take and what will be given to family, (even extended family might want some of the treasures you've collected all those years) charities etc is a major undertaking in itself, but with patience and fortitude it can work. We have managed to reduce our "stuff" quite a lot and only have a few things left to live comfortably until we take the "plunge" into full timing.
A perfect world...... well we all have our views of what this should be right?
Trying to decide what to keep, sell, give away, give to children or family is a slow and sometimes difficult thing to do especially if what you have gathered is from many years of treasures. However taking into account that most family will gladly accept the items/treasures you partake to them it may not be an issue. It was not for us.
Should you store somethings for later when you decide to stop travelling? I personally think that would be a waste of money spent on storing something that could be kept with family or just purchase what you want later. Of course if there are treasures you just cannot part with then storage or family can hold them for you.
With that said, it's time to decide what can be taken on your journey without overtaking your living space. How do you decide what will be needed and where would you store it?
Depending on the size of the camper and your storage space you could take quite a lot but still will have to be very careful with where the items are packed and if they would be easily accessed.
One thing to be careful of is not to infringe on space needed for necessary items and space needed for relaxing comfortably.
What do you take? Well depending on how much space you have for storage for items and what kind of weather you anticipate living in. You can take what you need and still have enough space to be comfortable.
Now that brings up more things to write about so until later - Smile and let God guide you...
Love it Sam. Good work.
ReplyDeleteIf you're like us, you'll find yourself getting rid of stuff even after you hit the road. It seemed every couple of months we were looking for a donation drop off location to get rid of stuff we realized we didn't actually need. Enjoy the process. :)
